TBC CONGREGATION

MUSIC MINISTRY NEWS:  Our Chancel Chorale and Youth Choir are looking for new and “old” members!  If you can read music or like to sing, why not consider joining a choir?  The Youth Choir rehearses on Sundays after the Worship Service.  See Jonathan Singleton, Beverly Byron or Felix Mwangi for a registration form.  Our Chancel Chorale rehearses on Wednesdays at 8:00 P.M.  See Sis.Bernice Payne or Bro. HELP! MINISTER OF HOSPITAL VISITATIONS AND DIACONATE MINISTRY:  If you or members of your immediate family are hospitalized, please call the Central Office (617-442-7855) or our Emergency telephone number (617-228-2810) to report.  Day surgery and overnight stays should also be reported.


HELP NEEDED!  Our Transportation Ministry is in need of van and bus drivers for Sundays and an occasional week day.  If you have a good driving record and are interested in transporting seniors and children, please see Sis. Frances Chalmers.  Training is also available, if interested, to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).


JUST A REMINDER:  Should you notice any TBC equipment or items in need of repair, or lights out on the premises, please report information to any full-time Central Office staff, or any member of the Trustee Ministry.  Thank you!


NEEDED:  Do you have one or two hours per week to be a tutor?  TBC’s Tutorial Ministry can use you!  Tutors are needed in all disciplines.  See Deacon Mondesir for further details.

COMPUTER LAB NEWS:  Our Computer Lab is reserved for the After School Program Monday through Friday, 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.  Everyone please take note.


COMPUTER MINISTRY NEWS:  EXCEL classes are ongoing.  Interested? join one of the classes on Thursday evenings at 6:30 P.M. or Saturday afternoons at 2:00 P.M.  Need help with applications in general, file sharing, printers or computer/ hardware purchasing advice?  If you are, complete the form in our Computer Lab with your question  or email montgomeryw@usa.net with your request.

HELP NEEDED:  Our Junior Church Ministry is in need of adult leaders.  If you are willing to work with children one Sunday per month (during worship service) , please speak to Minister Maurice Greaves as soon as possible.


NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS - MLK HOUSE: The Purpose Driven Life Class has concluded and will now be studying Boundaries, a nine-week class which will offer insights, exercises and discussions aim to improve the quality of your relationship in every sphere of life - marriage, family, friendships, church and the workplace.  The book and participant’s guide by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend can be purchased from our TBC Bookshelf.


THRIFT SHOP MINISTRY NEEDS:  The following items are needed to enhance the inventory of the Thrift Shop.  Men:  jeans and slacks,  sizes 38  to 40; women:  jeans and slacks, sizes 4 to 6 and 18 to 24.  Please search your closets for any items that you love but can’t use and bring them to the Thrift Shop.  (Leave the clothing in the Church Office if the Thrift Shop is not open.)


FOUND:  If you are wondering where your scarf, glasses, keys, Bible or other items are, why not check out our Lost & Found boxes in the Mills Room of Second  African  Meeting House?  You may find your item.


RECRUITMENT TIME:  Our Nurses’ Ministry is seeking persons interested in joining this ministry.  Training is available.  See Sis. Sarah Coleman or Sis. Barbara Gibbs for details.


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Our Bookshelf Ministry is still in need of volunteers to work on the First and Fifth Sunday of each month.  Can you assist?  If you can, please see Sister Stephanie Janey as soon as possible.

SENIOR MEN INVITED:  The Distinguished Brotherhood of Senior Men invite all senior men to join them for Bible study every 2nd and 4th Monday morning from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 noon in the MLK House.  Call the Central Office if you need additional information.
