Wellness MInistry
MISSION / VISION:
Vision Statement: With God’s guidance, we strive to create a thriving and resilient Black community in and outside of church walls, where mental health, physical health, and substance use disorders are understood, supported, and overcome through education, empowerment, and community solidarity.
Our mission, rooted in God's love and guidance, is to address the mental and physical health needs and substance use within our congregation and community. We are committed to providing comprehensive education, reducing stigma, and fostering healing. Our outreach extends beyond the walls of our church, aiming to impact the wider community, embracing intersectional identities and experiences, including gender identity (e.g., Black men and Black women) and age groups (e.g., youth and seniors). We seek to gather and disseminate information on the effects of historical, intergenerational, and current racism, interpersonal and community trauma, and social determinants of health on well-being and substance use. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we aim to uplift and improve health outcomes, promoting holistic well-being through faith, compassion, and community support."
