Waystation to Liberation
Stories of Faith in Action

A Twelfth Baptist Church Intergenerational Storytelling Initiative

Twelfth Baptist Church has always been a gathering place for faith, freedom, and community. From the Underground Railroad to the present day, our church has been a spiritual anchor and force for justice both locally and nationally. Now, in a time where Black communities are being displaced and our histories erased, we are being called to remember who we are and share our story.

Waystation to Liberation is a citywide, intergenerational storytelling project led by Twelfth Baptist Church. By looking back through our shared history, we will uplift the lived experiences of Black Christians in Boston and bear witness to the ways God continues to work through our lives. We will offer space for reflection and celebration through art, creative media, communal events, and a living installation housed here at Twelfth.
