2. Introductions and Zoom Etiquette

Each participant shares:

  • Name

  • Why they joined the class

  • Their experience level with Zoom

3. Assignment for Session 2:  Be prepared to post in Chat, One Personal Goal for the Course;  Also, text your personal goal to Willia at 617-335-7569

Examples of personal goals:

  • “Be able to create a monthly family Zoom meeting.”

  • “Learn how to join church meetings online.”

  • “Use Zoom to talk with my doctor remotely.”

  • “Host virtual gatherings with family and friends.”

  • “Set up Social Security account online.”

Facilitator may write goals on a shared screen or whiteboard.

Session 3 - Getting Into your Device or Apps
Goal: Build confidence and reduce anxiety.

  • Credentials: Users Names, Password, Authentification

  • Understanding the desktop/home screen, Using a mouse and keyboard

  • Moving Around Windows, 

  • Tabs and Dialog Boxes, Scroll Bars, Dropdown, Lists

  • Opening and closing programs

Session 4a - Connections Network  Internet Cellular

  • Network, Internet, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI 

Session 4b - Safety and Privacy Basic

  • The Real vs the Fake, Trust, Website Caution

Session 5:  Basic Apps and Smartphone Technology
